Headshot Tateum Mahoney

Tateum Mahoney

Play Therapist & Social Worker
Graduating in 2015 with a Bachelor in Social Work at Victoria University, Grace has also just completed her Masters of Child Play Therapy at Deakin University. Tateum began working in the social work field in homelessness. Working in this field expanded interest in working with families and children with a range of complexities. Working holistically with children from 2-12 years of age and their families is Tateum’s passion. Her main goal is to assist and support children to become the best versions of themselves; learning, developing, and growing in play therapy. Calm in nature, Tateum enjoys the openness and freedom of expression for children in the play space, with that space becoming a safe, nurturing and judgement-free place where any child can feel a part of and be comfortable in. Tateum is empathetic and sensitive to every child and their individual needs. Her role as a play therapist is to build a therapeutic relationship to help facilitate change and growth for the child and/or family. Tateum values each child and their parents, caregivers, and other support systems, and aims to work as openly and transparently as possible with each to ensure the best possible outcomes for the child.
