Emma S Headshot

Emma Schubert

Clinical Psychologist

At the core of Emma’s work is an empathic curiosity for young children, how they see the
world, and how the world engages with them. She engages in neurodivergent affirming
practice, which means that she recognises and celebrates the unique strengths and
differences of each child. Emma is warm, compassionate, professional and fun, and works
collaboratively to empower children and families to achieve their goals. Her approach is
evidence-based, using therapies such as cognitive behaviour therapy, acceptance and
commitment therapy, and compassion focused therapy.

Emma has years of experience working with children and families on a wide range of issues,
in private practice, schools and community organisations. She has also conducted research
in children’s social functioning through Swinburne University and the Murdoch Children’s
Research Institute (Melbourne), and her Masters research into the experience of
Endometriosis in individuals and their partners has been published in the Journal of
Psychosomatic Obstetrics and Gynecology.

Emma also provides parenting support and adult therapy.

Previous to her career in psychology, Emma was a dance and music teacher and opened a
dance school for children young and old. Thus, in her spare time she still enjoys dancing
with her young family and being creative in any way!
