Shevaun (She/Her) is a neurodivergent speech therapist from The Courageous Space, a private multidisciplinary practice welcoming those searching for acceptance, support and affirmation.
Shevaun has had experience working across the lifespan in a range of settings, such as private practice, primary school, and secondary school settings. She has experience working with LGBTIQAP+ and neurodiverse humans and is passionate about providing gender-affirming voice and communication support to trans, gender diverse, and non-binary people.
Shevaun works with paediatric clients aged 5+, adolescent, and adult clients, focusing on support within the LGBTIQAP+ and neurodivergent communities. Shevaun hopes to foster authentic relationships with her clients to understand their worries and earn trust. She is particularly passionate about exploring how people communicate in a way that is authentic and true to them. She uses a functional communication approach, ensuring therapy goals are meaningful to her clients. She is dedicated to cultivating a client-centred approach, integrating neurodiversity-affirming, mental health, and trauma-informed practices that celebrate and acknowledge human diversity.
Outside of work, Shevaun enjoys singing, gardening, reading, travel, and Pilates. She can often be found spending time with her greyhound, Fergie, or grabbing a chai latte at her favourite farmers market in Abbotsford.
Shevaun works out of the Sum of Us Kids Therapy Hub on Wednesdays.
